Focus BC has developed for Emel a safety sensing system to provide answers about treatment and availability of thousands of data in real-time.

Customer

Emel is a municipal company that aims to manage Mobility and Parking in the city of Lisbon.

In 2017 the company launched a Bike sharing project called GIRA, a solution that includes a network of shared bikes, providing new mobility to the city of Lisbon.

This Lisbon’s public bicycle sharing system is a great way to travel around and explore the city.

Challenge

With the business growing, Emel's main challenge is to manage all the bicycles and stations in real time and ensure a functional system. This management is dependent on loading and treatment of thousands of data per second, already having prior knowledge of the position and other characteristics of bicycles.

Results

  • Visualization and monitoring bicycles in real-time;

  • Implementation of an alarm system connected with the state of the bicycles and stations allowing a faster action;

  • Understanding urban lifestyles - habits of movement in the city;

  • Planning new bike stations
